North Sidney Church & Cemetery Historical Association

The old North Church must go they said,
Alas, alack, my heart just bled;
That dear old beacon against the sky,
It called us to worship the Lord on High.

And what would it cost, to take it away?
Perhaps 'twould pay to keep the old church for many a-day!
Oh no, to me that's holy ground.

It's part of the landscape, it's part of the hill,
Way out over the valley, we heard the bell trill;
So God bless the old St. John's church, so dear, so fair,
And please help us, dear Lord, to keep it here.
